NASHVILLE, TN - On Saturday afternoon, Nashville SC fans got their first taste of what 2025 Nashville SC might look like, dubbed "Nashville SC 2.0" by the club.
Our full recap of the afternoon's action can be read here. Let's dive into some deeper analysis of what Nashville SC showed on the Geodis Park pitch.
Lineup thoughts
Before we dive into individual performances, I wanted to take a minute to talk about what we saw in the first 45 minute period from what was nearly a full strength starting lineup.
Since falling in Leagues Cup Final against Inter Miami two seasons ago (and frankly for a while before that in MLS play), Nashville had looked completely toothless in attack. There was little to no connection between the midfield and the forward lines, and pretty much the only hope the Boys In Gold had of an attacking threat for a frustratingly large amount of a frustratingly large number of games was to pass it wide and cross the ball into the box.
