NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC forward Hany Mukhtar has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club through the 2027 season, the club announced ahead of their Concacaf Champions Cup match against Inter Miami CF.

“Nashville, super excited to tell you that my journey here continues!” said Mukhtar in the club’s press release. “I’m excited to sign a new deal with Nashville SC and keep building on what we’ve started. This city has embraced me with open arms and I’m happy to call Nashville home. I salute the fans, whose energy fuels our drive to achieve greatness.”

“Big thanks to the club, our dedicated coaches, and the supportive staff behind the scenes for believing in me,” he continued. “Thanks to my teammates for the battles we’ve fought together, and to my family for their love and support. Here’s to more victories, both on and off the field.”

Mukhtar, 28, was signed as Nashville’s first-ever Designated Player ahead of their 2020 inagural season. Since then, Mukhtar has blossomed into one of MLS’s best attackers and the face of Nashville soccer. In 113 regular season appearances, Mukhtar has scored a staggering 58 goals and added 38 assists. The next closest player in MLS, Raul Ruidíaz, has scored 43.

“Hany has played such a special role for our club, as well as our city, and we are very proud to see him commit to being a part of the present and future here in Nashville,” said Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs.

Locking down Mukhtar, and presumably giving him a hefty raise, will ease any concerns raised by last summer’s Qatari transfer offer, and will hopefully settle any concerns Mukhtar had about his future in Music City.
