NASHVILLE, TN - Hany Mukhtar is loving life in Nashville SC 2.0.
2024 was a disappointing season individually and collectively. Nashville SC failed to make the playoffs for the first time as a professional club, and Mukhtar's eight MLS goals were fewest he'd scored since Nashville's 2020 expansion season. Under new head coach BJ Callaghan, things are looking up.
"We can see slowly that we are going in the right direction," Mukhtar told reporters at the club's Vanderbilt Health Training Center on Thursday. "Being more aggressive, being more on the front foot, not being reckless, but, you know, picking our moments in the press. Trying to keep the ball and creating chances and being a team more with the ball."
A more proactive approach

Mukhtar has been critical of Nashville's tactics in the past. In 2022 and 2024, the attacker publicly called for the Boys In Gold to improve in possession, saying "We are a very difficult team to play against... but it’s important for us to also dominate the games with the ball."
