"I was not happy with my own performance," he told reporters after training on Wednesday at the club's Antioch training facility.

After winning the MLS Golden Boot with 23 goals in 2022 and scoring 15 in 2023, Mukhtar's output dropped to just eight in 2024, his second-lowest ever in MLS. With the team missing the playoffs for the first time in club history, his struggles were a microcosm of bigger issues.
