NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC forward Jacob Shaffelburg acquired his green card in December and will no longer occupy an international roster slot, a club spokesperson confirmed to SixOneFive Soccer on Thursday.

Shaffelburg, 25, was initially acquired on loan from Toronto FC in August 2022, and was permanently acquired for up to $300,000 in General Allocation Money in November of the same year. Since joining Nashville, Shaffelburg has made 76 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and adding an additional nine assists.

Since joining Nashville, Shaffelburg has broken out for the Canadian national team. With three substitute appearances before arriving in Music City, he's made 17 appearances since his move, starting eight matches and bagging six goals.

After loaning fellow Canadian Woobens Pacius to Tampa Bay Rowdies, Nashville SC have one open international roster spot. Defender Jeisson Palacios, midfielders Patrick Yazbek and Eddi Tagseth, and forward Sam Surridge currently occupy international roster slots for the club.

The MLS primary transfer window is open until Wednesday, April 23.
