NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC have acquired the MLS SuperDraft Priority for forward Gunnar Studenhofft from the Colorado Rapids. In exchange, Nashville send Colorado their second-round pick in the 2027 MLS SuperDraft and up to $250,000 in General Allocation Money. Nashville gain the exclusive ability to sign Studenhofft to an MLS contract before 2027.
Studenhofft, 22, was signed by Huntsville City FC ahead of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. The Cayman Islands international scored against Chicago Fire II in his professional debut earlier this season, and has come off the bench in both their matches.

“Gunnar is a unique combination of pace and strength, and as a goal threat will add a unique dimension to Huntsville City FC,” said Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs in the club's press release. “He has the potential to be a first team prospect, and we are excited to have him as a member of our organization.”
Studenhofft was drafted 60th overall by Colorado in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. He played collegiately at the University of South Florida and Manhattan University, making a total of 46 appearances and scoring 16 goals. Internationally, he has two goals in six appearances for the Cayman Islands, with both his goals coming in the Concacaf Nations League.
Huntsville and Nashville are both incredibly optimistic about his profile and potential.
"Gunnar is a physical freak," Huntsville Director of Soccer Operations Matt Cairns told SixOneFive Soccer in an exclusive interview. "He hits every physical metric, basically a Premier League player, a high end Premier League athlete. But we need to clean up the technical side of his game over the next twelve to eighteen months."
