NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC have traded for forward Ethan Zubak from the LA Galaxy, sending a first-round 2022 MLS SuperDraft pick the other way. From the press release:
“Ethan has the potential to be a unique attacking player with his combination of athleticism and tenacity. He is dangerous in and around the box and is a constant threat. He is a really good fit for our club.” – Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs
Zubak, 23, was signed from the Galaxy academy in 2019. The 6’2″ striker has scored three goals in 36 MLS appearances, as well as adding 27 goals and six assists for LA Galaxy II in the USL Championship.
With the departure of Jhonder Cádiz, Zubak’s signing brings a high-potential young attacker to Nashville. His size and strength make him a strong target forward, but he also has the speed to make runs in behind and stretch the defense, making him an ideal understudy for CJ Sapong.
Zubak played 759 minutes for Los Angeles in 2021. According to American Soccer Analysis, his goals added per 96 is the 57th among strikers last season. At 23 years old, he still has plenty of potential to develop, as well as the professional experience needed to get him on the field.
