NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC announced on Monday that the club will host their US Open Cup Round of 32 match on Tuesday, May 6 at Geodis Park. Their opponent will be drawn on April 17, after the Third Round concludes.

2025 will mark the third time Nashville have participated in the US Open Cup since their 2020 MLS expansion season, with the club also participating in 2018 and 2019 as a USL Championship club.

Nashville SC's best run in the tournament came in 2022. The Coyotes beat Atlanta United and Louisville City en route to the Quarterfinals, where they fell in penalties to eventual champion Orlando City after a 1-1 draw in regulation.

First held in 1913, the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup is the oldest national soccer competition, and one of the oldest in the global game. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2024, MLS controversially tried to pull all its teams out of the tournament. After a ruling from US Soccer, MLS instead sent just eight teams to the competition, with nine other sides from MLS NEXT Pro, their reserve league, taking part instead of their parent clubs.

In 2025, 16 MLS clubs will participate. These teams were selected based on their performance in the 2024 season, with teams who qualified for Concacaf Champions Cup not taking part, including reigning US Open Cup champions Los Angeles FC. The 10 MLS clubs who are not participating in either Leagues Cup or Concacaf Champions Cup are automatically selected for US Open Cup. The remaining six participants are selected for US Open Cup are determined by their 2024 Supporters' Shield standings.

Nashville SC season ticket members will receive access to all US Open Cup matches at Geodis Park through the Quarterfinals. Tickets for all others will go on sale on Tuesday, April 1.
