NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville SC have added another striker to their ranks, acquiring Dominique Badji from FC Dallas for $175k in 2020 TAM and $150k in 2020 GAM. Additionally, FC Dallas will receive $75k in GAM if Badji meets certain “performance-based metrics”.
Badji has spent his entire professional career in Major League Soccer, joining Colorado Rapids in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Badji spent 3 seasons in Colorado before being traded to FC Dallas.
“Dominique is a menace to play against,” said Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs. “Versatile enough to play centrally and on the flanks, his combination of pace, strength and tenacity makes him a constant goal threat.”
Badji is a quick player, who plays primarily as a center forward but often played out wide in Dallas. In 134 MLS appearances, he’s contributed 31 goals and 16 assists. He’s struggled for consistency in his MLS career, but has been a regular presence in the starting lineup in both Colorado and Dallas. Badji played 2,039 minutes in 2019, scoring six and assisting four.
Badji strengthens a forward group including Abu Danladi, Daniel Ríos and Cameron Lancaster. Nashville have 21 players on their roster for the 2020 MLS season.
