Philadelphia Union’s Jim Curtin praises BJ Callaghan: “Nashville made a perfect decision”

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Union head coach Jim Curtin was full of praise for newly-hired Nashville SC head coach BJ Callaghan before the two clubs face off on Saturday night. Prior to joining the US Men’s National Team in 2019, Callaghan worked with the Union as Curtin’s assistant coach for six years.

“So incredibly proud of him,” said Curtin during his pre-match media availability. “I think Nashville made a perfect decision. A top leader, a top coach, whether you talk about tactical, work ethic, speaking in front of the group, motivating athletes, whatever box you need to check, BJ Callaghan checks all of them.”
