NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC are on a three-match win streak, their longest since September of 2023. They're up against arguably their biggest test yet, taking on 2023 Supporters' Shield winners FC Cincinnati at Geodis Park on Saturday night.
The two sides have a long history, dating back to the 2018 USL season when they played three times in the regular season and once in the playoffs. All four meetings ended in draws, with Cincinnati edging out Nashville in penalty kicks at Nippert Stadium.
Things cooled down in MLS, largely because of Cincinnati's poor start in MLS, the Covid-shortened 2020 season, and Nashville one-year move to the Western Conference. While the rivalry hasn't maintained the intensity it had in USL, Nashville fans in particular still have it circled on the calendar.
