Report: Nashville SC agree to transfer for winger Ahmed Qasem

NASHVILLE, TN - Nashville SC have are finalizing a transfer for winger Amed Qasem from Swedish club Elfsborg IF, according to a report from Anel Avdić and confirmed by GIVEMESPORT's Tom Bogert. Qasem would be signed as a U22 Initiative player.

With a transfer fee in the range of $4.2 million, Qasem would be the third-most expensive transfer in Nashville SC history, behind Aké Loba ($6.8 million) and Sam Surridge (initial $6.4 million).

Qasem joined Elfsborg in 2021, where he has scored 11 goals in 90 appearances, adding another 11 assists. Previously, he came through the Motola AIF academy, eventually scoring five goals in 31 appearances with their first team in the third-tier of the Swedish football pyramid.

Internationally, Qasem has represented Sweden at the U17, U19 and U21 levels. Of Iraqi descent, he has expressed interest in representing Iraq at the senior international level.

Nashville SC are currently in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, for the final week of preseason training camp. They will play friendlies against DC United (Wednesday) and Austin FC (Saturday), before returning to Nashville ahead of their 2025 MLS season opener against New England Revolution on Saturday, February 22, at Geodis Park.
