NASHVILLE, TN - The U.S. Men's National team is returning to Music City. Sources confirm to SixOneFive Soccer that the USMNT will take on Switzerland at Nashville's Geodis Park this summer.
The match, set to be a tuneup for the USMNT's Gold Cup campaign, will take place between June 2-10 during the FIFA international window. It will be the second time the USMNT have played at Geodis Park, beating Ghana 4-0 in a friendly in October 2023. Additionally, Geodis has hosted the U.S. Women's National Team twice; a 1-0 win over Japan in the 2023 SheBelieves Cup, and a 3-1 win over Iceland in a 2024 friendly.
Switzerland are currently 20th in the FIFA World Rankings. They fell 3-2 to Spain in their most recent match, ensuring a last-place finish in their UEFA Nations League A group. Since their run to the quarterfinals of the UEFA European Championships in 2024, Switzerland have gone winless in six matches. They're scheduled to take on Mexico in a friendly in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 7.
The USMNT are set to take on Panama in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals on Thursday, March 20. Long-time head coach Gregg Berhalter was fired after their failure to advance from the Copa América group stage in the summer of 2024, with former Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Paris St. Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino taking over in September 2024.
Under Pochettino, the United States have won five of six matches, with their sole loss coming in a 2-0 defeat to Mexico in an October friendly. The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup will be Pochettino's first tournament in charge and is set to be a significant step in their preparation to host the 2025 FIFA World Cup.
